Tips to Combat Stress Year-Round Everyone experiences stress. Some stress is beneficial to your health. It assists you in responding to situations and may even assist you in benefiting from the change it brings. However, too much stress may disrupt your life and impair your mental and physical health. When stress lasts for an extended period, it can cause gastrointestinal problems, heart problems, and a chemical imbalance between your brain and nervous system. It may also create emotions of worry, despair, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and even relapse if you are in treatment. It is critical to recognize stress and learn how to handle and respond to it effectively.
Identify Your Stress Triggers
Consider what is causing your stress. Is it work? Are you not working? Have you promised to do too much and now find yourself with too many responsibilities? Sit in silence with your thoughts, practice mindfulness, and attempt to figure out what is generating your stress. Ask yourself questions, examine your beliefs, and concentrate on a new notion that will help you avoid your triggers. Understand that this may not happen instantly, but it will assist you in taking action to reduce your stressors before they become uncontrollable.
| Try Yoga & Meditation
Yoga and meditation both serve to strengthen both the mind and the body. Meditation will help you focus on your breathwork and keep your mind off your thoughts, whilst yoga will help you balance your body. Both can help to relax your mind and even enhance your sleep, which is usually affected by stress. The beauty of yoga and meditation is that you don't need more equipment to accomplish them. You may practice independently, at home, or at work and feel the stress melt away. | Regulate Your Sleep Schedule
A good night's sleep can do a lot for you. However, the majority of Americans do not get enough sleep. While the quantity of sleep required varies according to age and health, most people require 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night. An unstructured schedule, like stress, disrupts sleep rhythms. These inconsistencies establish an unhealthy loop that directly impacts your sleep. Remember that there is enough time in the day for both work and play; you need to find out how much time you should devote to each. Make a timetable for yourself that specifies when you will work, when you will stop working when you will exercise, and when you will take time for yourself. Try to create a timetable that meets your requirements and does not need you to wait until you are in bed to rest completely. Sleep should be part of the timetable, so make sure you sleep when it is time to sleep. |

April
National Child Abuse Prevention Month
National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.
National Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Sexual harassment, assault, and abuse can happen anywhere, including online spaces. For too long, harassment, cyberbullying, and sexual abuse and exploitation have come to be expected as typical and unavoidable behaviors online. Building Safe Online Spaces Together is possible when we practice digital consent, intervene when we see harmful content and behaviors, and promote online communities that value respect, inclusion, and safety.

National Stress Awareness Month
Sponsored by The Health Resource Network (HRN), National Stress Awareness Month is an annual campaign that began in 1992 and has taken place every April since. During this month, health care professionals unite to raise awareness of what effects stress has on people's everyday wellness and what can be done to combat it. Public forums, discussion groups, and other informative community events are employed to shed more light on the health impacts of stress.
April 10-16 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored. Initially set up in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in California, this week-long event is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It is a week that should be set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication.
